Auntie Update

The first ultrasound has confirmed that I will be an Auntie, Adam will be an Uncle, and Hannah and Grace will be Cousins on December 2, 2007. Yeah!!!

And Adam is going to be an Uncle, and Hannah and Grace are going to be Cousins! My sister and Jer are pregnant and I've been bursting not being able to tell anyone, but now I can so I thought I'd put it on the Internet!!! (Sorry Stac) I will get some belly pictures to put on soon.

Mimicing

Not only does Hannah like to look like her sister Grace, she likes to sound like everyone else! We have now entered the Mimic Phase. When Adam and I are talking we now hear a little high pitched echo of random words we've said coming from the back seat, the living room, the high chair...wherever Hannah happens to be.

New Wheels

This is Hannah and Grace's brand new wagon (complete with it's own umbrella, seat belts and drink holders) which we gave a test run at the zoo a few weeks ago.

Progress!!

Hannah took her first assisted step the other night (by assisted I mean I was holding her hands for balance)! Our sense of relief is so profound! You try not to think about it, but subconsciously we were living in a state of constant worry that there may have been something wrong that was preventing her from standing. Now our prayers are answered and we can sit back and witness the miracle of a child's first steps again!!

A visit to the Farm

Adam took Hannah and Grace to Papa's farm today. I don't have pictures, but apparently Hannah is terrified of cows! In books she points at them and says "Moo", but real live cows are a whole different story I guess.

Happy Easter to us; Hannah is starting to stand!! You can see her here standing against the couch to get some eggs! She's a little late getting started, but better late than never.

Here's Grace enjoying her eggs too. She liked them even better once she realized that they opened and there were Gold Fish crackers inside!! Sorry, no chocolate yet.

Happy Birthday to Me!!

Well I had a great birthday! Thanks to the Woo Hoos, Adam, Hannah and Grace, and my Mom, Stac and Jer for the celebrations.

I could be wrong, but I'm going to say that Grace comes by the "Couch Potato" honestly!

Back to cold wagon rides

Well, for a few days we enjoyed long family walks in the wagon after dinner because it was so warm, now we're back to shorter, colder wagon rides with lots of layers.

How quick they learn...

The other night Hannah was watching a cartoon and the characters were golfing. She pointed at the screen and said, "Daddy"! (I swear I didn't teach her that!)

Our Getaway

Adam and I went to the Idlewyld Inn in London for an overnight stay a few weekends ago. We enjoyed great wine, 5 course meals, and chocolates on our pillows for one incredible night - and then we left and rejoined the real world.
Thanks Drew and Kate for realizing how much we needed a getaway!

Things they are doing and saying

No picture this time, just an update of what the girls are up to.

Hannah:
Words - 'Hi', 'Bye-Bye' (accompanied by a wave), 'duck', 'light', 'Ma' (that's me), and 'Daddy' (yes, Adam gets two syllables to my one).
Hannah does a lot of pointing at what she wants.
She's getting really mobile and has escalated to what I like to call "All Terrain Scooching". She scooches on her bum over any obstacle in her path and up on top of things. No standing yet, but Adam and I think she's beginning to show some interest my holding onto things above her and raising her bum off the floor.

Grace:
Words - 'Hi', 'Hi, Daddy', 'flower'. Grace talks a lot and points at stuff, but it's not always clear which word she is saying.
Grace likes to go into the cupboards and get herself a snack even though I say 'no'. Goldfish crackers are her special favourite!

All the Way from Thailand

Eating with Spoons

I think I mentioned before that the girls are now eating with utensils, well here is the photo evidence.

Twins?

I put this picture on because it represents the differences between Hannah and Grace's personalities very well.

Hannah - Inquisitive, pointing to something (most likely the Squirrel book up on the shelf).
Grace - Laughing and happy all of the time.

Both have their advantages and we're so thankful to have both.

A Really Cute Moment

Last night Hannah and Grace were sitting on the couch watching 'Go Diego Go' (Grace's favourite show) and when I came back into the room from the kitchen they had moved into the middle of the couch and we're hugging each other while they watched the show. So Cute!

Adam and I would like to thank my sister Stacey for buying the really annoying, loud popping toy pictured above. Grace especially likes to just pick it up and hit the tile floor with it like a stick! We only have one thing to say; "What goes around comes around"...

Hannah's New Favourite Book

This is Hannah's new favourite book. She totally amazed us when she first got it because when you ask her where almost any object in the book is she can point to it. It's amazing how many words she understands even though she doesn't say them! Her favourites are "duck" and "teddy bear".

No Pictures of Mommy

For those of you who have questioned what I am doing during all these fun pictures of Adam and the girls, I'm probably folding laundry (while taking the picture). So here I am with my Gracie!

New Words

It's fitting that a post about the girls words contain a picture of them with their Daddy because all of their words seem to involve him.

They both say, "Bye, Daddy"(when he leaves); and "Daddy!!!"(when he comes home).

Grace says, "Dolly", "Dog".

Hannah says, "Oink", "Cat", "Duck".

Disclaimer: Of course their words aren't absolutely clear, but spend enough time with them and they say them often enough that you come to understand them.

Also, Hannah will point to her nose and mouth if you ask her where they are.

They're so smart!!(but I may be a little biased).

Spa Day

This past Saturday, I had a day at the spa with Donna and Kate. I have beautifully painted fingers and toes... Thanks Dennis!!

Addicted

Okay, so I have been terrible at updating the blog in 2007, but I blame it entirely on "Lost". If you don't know what "Lost" is I have to assume you are living on the deserted island with the characters from "Lost". It is a show that has Adam and I completely entralled! We are watching the previous seasons so we can catch up to where it is on TV. I promise everyone that once we've caught up I'll download my camera and give you your 'Hannah and Grace' fix.
